It was formed in 1867.
It was named for Sergeant Marion Harper of the 2nd Kansas Cavalry, who died of wounds suffered near Waldron, Arkansas, in December 1863.

Harper County Public Records

NOTE - If a requester wants to secure records in-person, they must adhere to several rules in Harper County. The office is open between 8:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. CST from Monday to Friday. In order to be granted a copy of a record, requesters must also be able to show some form of photo identification. These can include driver's licenses, state IDs, and more. Public record requests in Harper County must also be put into writing.
