It was formed in 1859.

It was named for the Osage Native American Tribe. It is a Midwestern Native American tribe of the Great Plains.

Osage County Criminal Records

Osage County records their criminal activity in the form of criminal records. These records cover murders, rapes, burglaries, arson, motor vehicle theft, assaults, and crimes of a sexual nature. In Osage County and the entire state of Kansas, the authorities must keep an up-to-date register listing each and every sex offender in the area. These include any individual living, working, attending school, or in prison in the Osage County area. As it is in the public interest, all Osage County residents can access this list.

The Court of Appeals of Kansas has the power to oversee any decision made by lower courts when an appeal is made. These lower courts are made up of the 105 superior or trial courts found across the state's 105 counties, including Osage County.

Osage County Public Records

The opening hours for the Osage County office are 8:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. CST from Monday to Friday. In Osage County, a photo ID is needed to acquire records in-person. A driver's license or a state ID would be acceptable. Requesters must also put each public record request in writing in Osage County in order to be successful.
