Rooks County is located in the state of Kansas. The current seat in Rooks County is Stockton. In 2020, the population in Rooks County was 4,919.
It was formed in 1867.
It was named for Private John C. Rooks of the 11th Kansas Infantry, who died at the Battle of Prairie Grove near Fayetteville, Arkansas, during the Civil War.

NOTE - There are a number of rules in Rooks County regarding obtaining records in-person. The office is only open between 8:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. CST from Monday to Friday.
