The Kansas Bureau of Investigation publishes annual crime statistical data as part of the FBI's Uniform Crime Reporting Program. According to 2018 reports, law enforcement agencies in Wyandotte county reported a net total of 8,920 crime index offenses, putting the crime rate per 1000 at 54.2. Property crimes accounted for 86% of the reported crimes, with theft being the most recurring offense with 5,166 incidents. Motor-vehicle theft and burglary ranked second and third in frequency with 1,506 and 1,047 reported incidents respectively.
A further breakdown revealed aggravated assault to be the most recurring violent crime and the fourth most common offense with 759 reported incidents while offenses of robbery and rape followed behind with 285 and 114 incidents respectively. Overall, murder was recorded to be the least reported crime with 43 confirmed incidents in the year.

The Wyandotte County Sheriff's Office is responsible for maintaining law and order within county limits and tasked with maintaining records of criminal activity and collating crime-related data of the county. How to Find Sex Offender Information
Convicted sex offenders resident in Wyandotte County are required to be registered by the County's Sheriff Office and all public information of offenders are pooled and published on the Kansas State Sex Offender Registry as provided by Federal laws. Where and How to Get Property Records
The Wyandotte County Register of Deeds Office records maintains documents such as liens, deeds, mortgage documents, land records, plats and other records pertaining to land and real property ownership. All documents recorded by the office are public records and are available to interested members of the public. To request these records, interested persons may visit the office or mail a copy request along with a cheque or money order payment of $13 for certified copies plus $1 per page of the document requested. Vital Records
Kansas State vital records are managed and issued by the Kansas Department of Health and Environment which serves as a statewide repository of birth, death, marriage and divorce certificates. At the county level, records of divorces are maintained by the office of the Clerk of District Court; however, birth, death and marriage records are no longer issued by the County Clerk but can be obtained at the state level.
