Rice County is situated in the state of Kansas. The county seat is currently Lyons. Rice County was home to 9,427 occupants back in 2020.

It was formed in 1867.

It was named in memory of Samuel Allen Rice, Brigadier-General, United States volunteers, killed April 30, 1864, at Jenkins Ferry, Arkansas.

Rice County Public Records

NOTE - If a requester wants to get records in-person, they must adhere to a number of rules in Rice County. Firstly, the Rice County office is open between 8:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. CST from Monday to Friday. The requester in question must also be able to show a photo ID. Examples of an acceptable form of photo ID include a driver’s license or state ID. All Rice County public record requests must also be put into writing.
